Progress Report is built by Peter Howell, who has spent two decades running distance education technology at a California community college.
The tool exists because of a pattern he watched for years: the teachers who catch struggling students early are the ones willing to click through Canvas screen by screen, student by student, every week. The information was always there — it just cost twenty minutes a course to see. Progress Report makes it cost one click.
The progress grid is the first tool, not the last. What holds them together is the delivery: install it in a minute, use your own Canvas login, keep your students' data in your own browser. Support requests are answered by the person who wrote the code.
